The energy efficiency of external roller blinds that can reach up to 30% as results from various studies still does not convince users. The benefits of using them are even more. They may hinder burglary, protect against noise and wind, shield from the sun, and prevent fading of wall colors and the discoloration of furniture. Unfortunately, only one in 10 windows is equipped with an external roller blind. Browsing through interior design magazines and websites the diversity of offers is visible. Roller blinds and blind accessories are available in all RAL colors, and even wood imitations.
Roller blinds may differ not only in color, texture and material, but also structure. Instead of aluminum sheets that completely cover the window, increasingly popular are partially translucent plastic sheets that allow more light inside. In this solution the roller blind obtains a lightness and does not lose its energy efficiency. Modern methods of installation are box fastening under the plaster, so that the sheet is as close to the glass as possible. The box is completely concealed, insulated and plastered as the rest of the wall. This solution requires planning at the design stage. Blinds can be equipped with an integrated electric drive. This not only facilitates daily functioning but the shutter operation can be adjusted to meet the individual needs of the user. The drive works with a system of sensors automatically opening and closing them at a certain time, in response to sunset, wind or sun.![]() |
